Watercolor of House: This watercolor of a Lennox, MA house  was done by Vogt, who also painted interiors of the house.  This painting is 10 inches by 14 inches.  Price:  $135

 

 

ManÕs Vest: This manÕs wedding vest was very expertly embroidered.  Price:  $350

 

 

Homespun: This length of homespun is woven with great colors.  The piece is quite large at 94 inches by 27 inches.  A detail of the entire piece is shown below.  Price:  $475

 

 

Embroidered Pocket: This pocket is embroidered on linen.  It is similar in design to the ÒDeerfieldÓ pockets but has cotton thread rather than wool yarn.  It is 15 inches from top to bottom.  Price:  $450

 

 

Schoolgirl Box: This box has intricate transfer scenes on all four sides.  The best one is on the front.  It is 24 inches wide. The box top has been replaced.  Price:  $595

 

 

 

 

 

Brass Candlesticks: This pair of English brass sticks is the King of Diamonds pattern.  They are 11 inches tall.  Price:  $185

 

 

 

Hearse Ornament: This ornament is carved and painted black.  It is all wooden except for the handles.  The height is 13 inches.

 

 

 

Fraternal and Sororal Costumes: These heavily beaded outfits were made for members of the Order of Redmen (founded in Baltimore in 1834) and its sister organization.  The costumes were made in the 1880s by Maine Native Americans to be worn by Caucasians.

 

The manÕs jacket is velvet with white and red beads.  The womanÕs outfit is on trade cloth with white and black beads.

 

 In addition to the costumes, I have three photographs of family members wearing the garments.  The first two photos are dated 1885 and the other is from the 1950s.
